We skipped out on the fireworks because of the weather. We were in bed before they even went off. Emma informed me she saw them lastyear she's all set. Zach was ticked at the weather man because he keeps predicting rain.
I packed up the kids this morning after a leisure slow morning and we headed out to the parade. Spent some time hanging with Uncle John and Aunt Kathy and the kids. Walked down to the parade just in time for the firetrucks. The best part!
Well about 45 minutes into the parade a bolt of lightening came down. Didn't really move until the second one and the extreme downpour. The poor people in the parade that had nowhere to go and the crowd is running.
So this evening we were invited to attend a cookout on "The Flying Fish". A Coast Guard boat out of Boston, docked in Newburyport for the week. Uncle Mark is Senior Chief of this boat with a crew of 11. It was great to see the excitement in the friends and family. What an honor for Mark and his crew.

Zach really liked this. He was using these huge binnoculars looking for Im not sure what. It was very interesting to see the tight quarters the guys and girls live in. The boat pulls out of Newburyport tomorrow around 1 pm and heads up to the coast of Maine for two weeks.
Zachary starts summer school tomorrow. Wish us luck this will be a smooth transition!!!!
