I just found this on the web. I was looking into books about autism-like I haven't read enough already.
I found this and it kind of made me happy because Zach had the opportunity to spend some time with this local star. And this super nice guy new that Zach had been diagnosed on the Autism spectrum-so he was really great about interacting with Zach, very hands on. And before the meet he sent Zachary a doll of himself that was autographed.
This is going to be on tomorrow night-Saturday, August 2nd at 9pm.
I had belonged to the gym where John Cena started out and still uses when he is home. The owner of the gym took a special interest in Zach. That made this meeting really special because he would ask me all kinds of questions to try and understand this whole Autism thing. He (Dave) really wanted for Zach to get his wish and meet John.
I have also read one of Jenny McCarthy's books and enjoyed it greatly. She is a very strong advocate for Autism. And just because she is a star it doesn't mean her life is any easier than the rest of us. Everyday in the world of the spectrum is different. What works one day may not the rest.
I will say before ending this post I have not once considered that Zachary got his disorder from his vaccines. We were told at a very young age by our awesome pediatrician that she had a hunch. We went with her gut on this one. But Zachary started having ear infections from 4 months of age until he had tubes put in after he was two. He had some of the idiosyncrasies that other autistic children have. So that was a clue. But at the same time he also ended up getting Roto virus and was so sick that I thought at one point I was going to lose him. He experienced some very high fevers. After a week in the hospital he was released and it was then that we saw some major regression. But from there we moved forwards. Picked up the pieces and went in search of answers.
