Crappy weather!

Well the past couple of days have been miserable weather wise. Yesterday started out kind of nice but changed quickly. So we stayed in and started to pack. Didn't really get much accomplished but it's a start. I have until the end of August--so no need to rush.

Today Zach left this am with Grampy Cutter. So Emma and I did some errands. Gotta tell you she makes my head spin sometimes. My mother told me when I was younger that my dad had worried about when I would start talking when I was little. She told him not to worry. And when I did start talking I never stopped. Well Emma had no problems as an infant talking. And she still has no problem talking. Riding in the car with her I have to tune her out. Half the time I have no idea what she is talking about. She'll ask me quesitons and I stop and ask her are you for real. And she'll laugh at me because she knows she either knew the answer or made no sense what so ever.

A few weeks ago after her father/daughter dance we took their flowers and brought them to my grandmothers grave. I had explained that when I got married I had my mom and dad leave my bouquet at my grandparents grave. So Emma thought this was a good idea. Now she had never been to a cemetary before. So it was kind of interesting hearing a 6 year olds perspective on the deceased. She couldn't believe all these people were there--she's refering to the dead-because we were only two present and alive. So she looked at the stones and flowers. Wanted to know why they all died and how. Above is a picture of her at my grandparents (Rock) grave.

So the past couple of days we've been having thunderstorms go through. Emma keeps asking why does it keep thundering? So I told her what my Grandmother Rock used to tell me. THE ANGELS ARE BOWLING. Emma took some time to think about this. The next time it started to thunder she says "they're doing it again." So I asked what? She says "the angels are bowling again." I had to smile. I remember thinking about it when I was her age. She asked "are the angels the people that died." I remember my grandparents going out on to their finished porch when the storms would go through. My grandfather enjoyed them. I remember sitting under the table scared to death.

So at some point I will have to tell her that it really has nothing to do with the angels at all. But I thought this was a safe answer. I know that if Zach had heard her ask why she would have got the whole explanation on the cold front and warm front mixing and the change in the air and so on...

The angels are bowling! We used to say that, too. Wonderful picture at the gravesite.
